I live in Sai Kung with my family. I have a 7-year-old son called Orlando and a new kitten called Pom-pom. We love living in Hong Kong and enjoy the friendliness and efficiency of this vibrant city.

This is my first year at St. Matthew’s Lutheran School (S.M.P). I will teach the Primary Literacy Program-Reading/Writing (PLP-RW, oral lessons and co-curricular activities.

I look forward to meeting all my new students and to a great year ahead!

The Primary Literacy Programme- Reading is carried out in J.1 and J.2 classes. The aim of the programme is to enhance the reading proficiency of students through a sustainable literacy programme with a focus on reading which helps to establish basic literacy skills for future learning.

The Little Rabbit and the Wolf

—–One day, the little rabbit wanted to visit her grandfather because he was sick. He had a cold and he stayed at home. She wanted to look after him and help him take the medicine.

—–Then, the little rabbit left home and ran to her grandfather’s home. She carried some carrots and apples in her basket. Suddenly, she met a fierce wolf in the forest. It wanted to eat her. She was very scared. She screamed and cried loudly.

—–Luckily, Mr Bear was also in the forest. He was brave and hit the wolf with a stone. The wolf fainted. The little rabbit thanked Mr Bear. She gave him some apples too. Both of them were happy.

My Favourite Chinese Festival

—–My favourite Chines festival is Chinese New Year. It is in January or February. I celebrate this festival with my family and friends.

—–I go to my relatives’ homes at Chinese New Year. I like Chinese New Year because I can get red packets. At this Chinese festival, I watch the fireworks. Also, I put up red paper on doors and walls. I visit the flower market too. I eat rice cakes and turnip cakes. I feel tired by happy at this festival.

—–Chinese New Year is my favourite festival. I have so much fun with my family and friends.

Lost in a Maze

Last Sunday, Ben had a picnic in Hoi Ha Wai Marine Park with his family. When they arrived at the park, the weather was nice. It was a perfect day for outing. They bought some sandwiches and chicken legs. They were very delicious. They bought some cola too.

After lunch, they decided to play hide-and-seek in the park. When Ben was looking for a spot to hide himself, he stumbled in front of a maze called ‘Wonderful Maze’. He wanted to have the best hiding spot, so he went into the maze.

After a while, he could not find the way out. He found that he was lost. Then, he cried loudly, ‘Where are you, Mum and Dad?’

A few minutes later, Ben’s dad found him crying in a corner of the maze. Ben was so pleased to see his dad again He thought that he would die inside the maze. He said to himself, ‘That place is a hell. I won’t play in the maze again.’

A Camping Trip

      Last Saturday morning, my friends and I went camping on Lantau Island. We all felt excited.

It took us an hour to go to Lantau Island by ferry. After we arrived there, we pitched our tents on the beach. Pitching a tent was not easy, so we felt tired. Then we had our lunch. We enjoyed the beautiful scenery while we were eating sandwiches. After lunch, we swam in the sea and played ball games. We had a good time.

In the evening, we had a barbecue. We cooked chicken wings and sausages. After that, we watched the sunset at the beach. The sea breeze was comfortable and we were relaxed. At night, we built a campfire. We sang songs and played games around it. Then we got into our sleeping bags and had a sound sleep.

We got up late the next morning. After breakfast, we packed our things and left the campsite. We all enjoyed the trip very much and we would like to come again in the coming month.

An Accident

     Last weekend, I went shopping with my mum in Mong Kok. When we were waiting for the bus, an accident happened.

My mum and I were holding a lot of things after shopping. A boy wanted to cross the road in front of us. He was playing games on his mobile phone and did not notice a car was coming. Suddenly, the car rushed to him at a high speed. The boy was knocked down by the car. Then the driver got off the car and took a look at the boy.

I was shocked because the accident happened in front of me. My mum was calm and she dialed 999 for help immediately. The ambulance came soon. The ambulancemen sent the poor boy to the hospital. I learnt that I should pay attention when I was crossing the road.

A Trip to Thailand 

      I went to Thailand last summer with my family. We went there by plane.

The weather was hot and sunny in Thailand. We visited the most famous temple in Bangkok which features a soaring 70-metre high spire decorated with tiny pieces of coloured grass and Chinese porcelain. It was amazing.

We also did some water sports. We went to a beach and played on a banana boat. The sand was fine and the water was clear. We could see a lot of fish in the sea. We took a lot of photos at the beach. My family and I enjoy the exciting activities very much.

The next day, we went to Chatuchak Market. It is a popular local market where we could buy many clothes and souvenirs. I bought some necklaces for my friends. My mother bought a lot of clothes and accessories. All of us were happy.

      I want to visit Japan next summer. I want to eat more delicious Japanese food and enjoy the hot spring in Japan.

The Flag Day

Dear Mark,

Yesterday I sold flags for Hong Kong Charity. It is an organization which helps the people in need. I sold flags next to Mong Kok MTR Station at ten thirty in the morning. There were not many people near the exit.

First, a pretty woman walked towards me. However, she did not look at me and left without buying a flag. After that, I saw a man. I asked him politely, ‘Could you buy a flag, please?’ The man refused to buy any flags and walked away quickly. I was frustrated because no one bought flags from me.

      Then I walked around to find more people to buy flags. I asked them politely and people started to approach me and buy flags. They wanted to help more people in need. All my flags were sold within an hour. I felt tired buy satisfied because I can help the charity. Therefore, I would like to sell flags in the future. Would you like to join me?
